HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD
EVENT| Annual Award Ceremony at Manchester Central Arena
BRIEF| To create a Hollywood themed show to entertain guests in-between dinner courses and awards.
The ISE is an institute that connects student talent with suitable employees. We were delighted to be asked to create a large-scale, glitzy Hollywood stage show for their annual award ceremony at Manchester Central Convention Centre. There are around 300 guests who attend the ceremony every year who not only expect a great evening’s entertainment but also want to let their hair down and have a great time so it was important that we created entertainment that was not only impressive but also interactive.
The evening began with a champagne drinks reception and we set the scene and create excitement as soon as guests entered the building. As guests sipped champagne & mingled, Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, Indiana Jones & Audrey Hepburn circulated the room, occasionally stopping to chat to people or pose for photos. Fred & Ginger weaved elegantly through the crowd whilst our two beguiling Hollywood Showgirls caused quite a stir in sequins and feathers. Our two vintage paparazzi guys created a buzz as they ushered guests together for photos and scrambled over each other for snaps of Marilyn & Audrey!
The main stage show began with the Golden Age of Hollywood. We took the audience right back to the beginning and re-visited the Icons of the classic Hollywood cinema. In this section we paid homage to all the Hollywood greats including Marilyn Monroe with the hit number ‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend’ & Gene Kelly with ‘Singing In The Rain’.
The second half of the show brought things more up to date with a nod to the Blues Brothers, Saturday Night Fever & Dirty Dancing. With the guests already up and dancing at the end of the show, our performers then jumped onto the dance floor to lead them in the famous ‘Hustle’ line dance from Saturday Night Fever.
We really enjoyed encapsulating the atmosphere and style of Hollywood glamour and we were delighted to see the audience having a great time at the end of the show!
